This image was taken at Cherry Creek State Park Denver, CO, 80014, in a designated 'wetlands' area in July 2016. I could have used a flash, which would have 'frozen' the wing movements, but I was seeking out a dynamic action 'shot', and the wing blur did add impact to the image.
Both dragonflies are 'in-flight', with the lower left dragonfly beginning to lift-off from the contested perch.
