I used to think that there are no exotic and colorful insects in Norway, -just those boring flies! That was until I started snooping around in the garden with a macro lens.......
This is a snipe fly sitting in the hedge, they sit still for a second or two and that gives me a chance to fire off some pictures before they take off again. This picture is from last summer and shot with a NikonD800 and a Micro-Nikko 105mm, f/6,3, 1/500sec, ISO 400.
