I was strolling through the Nagaur Camel and Livestock Fair in Nagaur, Rajasthan, India, early one morning when I noticed two camel herders sitting on the ground and having coffee over a wood-burning campfire. I immediately sat down across from the two and negotiated their portrait. Just as I lifted my camera to eye level, a third companion, watching us from a distance, instantly scampered over and sat between the two, anxious to have his picture taken, too. I showed them the resulting image and all three were mightily amused. The blue smoke in the foreground and the catch-light in their eyes lends an intensity to the scene. It seems as thought all three froze in concentration to ensure that they did not foul-up the rare opportunity to have their collective portrait taken.
