While on a vacation back to Illinois, I was driving to the Shawnee Forrest in southern Illinois to revisit areas that I hadn't been to in a while. Driving along two lane, less traveled roads, I came upon this scene. Pulling off the road I took several photos. This was the one I chose. The image was converted to black and white, and tinted in DXO film pack.
Equipment was a Canon Powershot G16. Exposure was 1/100 sec. at f 6.3 and ISO of 200.
The image reminds me that no matter what man does, nature will eventually take over again.
