The structure is called the “Kiosk of Trajan”. It is part of the Philae Temple Complex in Egypt that was relocated in the 1960s to the island of Agilika to avoid the waters rising behind the Aswan High Dam. The photo was taken from a boat on the Nile with a Nikon D300 and an 18-200 mm Nikkor lens at 48 mm. The exposure was f/11 and 1/400 sec (ISO 400). The original color image was modified using NIK plug-ins to resemble an antique travel photo. Photographed by Irwin H. Segel, Davis, California.
