This is Billy Sylvain, lead guitar for Jersey Shore rock and roll band NRG. I was asked at the last minute to shoot this performance at The Headliner Nightclub in Neptune, New Jersey.

During warmups, I spotted Billy really wailing on his guitar for nobody but himself really. He was lit only by an offstage incandescent bulb.

Chatting with him before the show, I found out that the guitar he was playing was formerly owned by a young protege who had recently died. The guitar was a gift from the young man's mother. I was determined to get Billy a shot or two that he could give her.
