This was taken at sunset while on a recent trip to Iceland. I was part of a group of 7 women and a local guide for a 10 day photo tour. Our guide explained that chunks of ice break off the glaciers and float down the river, then the waves push them up on the beach. He said the evening we were there that compared to some days there really wasn't much ice on the beach--stating sometimes it is hard to walk through it!
