This was a photo I took on November 1st this year and the temperature was just above freezing. I waited just long enough the get the most color out of the sky and water. The dead tree limb hanging over the lake was a point of interest for me too. I used a Canon Powershot G15 on internal HDR mode. I used a miniature Manfrotto monopod to stabalize it just enough to remove keep things sharp. I met another local photographer braving the cold that evening too which added to the overall experience.
