I captured this image during a late spring snowstorm at Bryce Canyon. It was about 20 degrees, snowing heavily with winds gusting to 30-40 mph. It didn't look to promising, and I was tempted to head back to the warmth of my car. I had noticed this tree while looking for possible compositions of Silent City from Inspiration Point. After much waiting in the snow, cold and wind, an opening briefly appeared in the clouds, giving me the light I was hoping for. I was able to get my shots of Silent City, and on the way back to the car I was able to get this shot, which turned out to be the icing on the cake!
