This is the monument to the 72nd Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment along Cemetery Ridge at the Gettysburg battlefield. The conditions were the best I've seen at this location and I spent the best part of four hours testing and re-testing to be sure I had the best spot to get this shot. I used a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 70-300 4-5.6 lens. The settings: 1/400th, f-14, ISO 200, focal length 122 mm. It was 9:31 p.m. I used a quicker shutter speed to be sure the monument was sharp against the setting sun. The camera was on a tripod and I used the timed release to avoid any possible vibration from my finger on the trigger.
