This photo was taken at the Red Yao Village in the territory of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south-west China. The Yao women had not cut their hairs since they were twelve or thirteen and embroidered them with black scarves for decoration. After they are married, they tie their hairs in a bun on the foreheads and in front of the bun, there is a symbol of being a mother (as shown). They also treat the hairs with special weed, so there is no single white hair no matter how old the females are. One of the ladies is still holding the Guinness World record of the longest documented hair.
