I set the focus to manual mode at infinity.The exposure was 13 seconds at f/14. The ISO was 400. I also set my EV to -1.0 to compensate for the brightness of the lightning. Another words, I metered the night sky which gave me the above exposure/f-stop. Then I set the EV -1.0 to prevent any lightning discharges from over exposing
