My camera captured this dramatic image as I waited patiently in my truck while I hoped for lightning to strike on the top of Half Dome from Glacier Point at 6:30 a.m. a few days ago. There was plenty of lightning after this shot but it started pouring rain then hail and snow. All that moisture on my lens ruined my lightning images but I'm happy with all the drama going on here! Lightning storms in the high Sierra Nevada and Yosemite are not only quite dangerous and unpredictable but very beautiful to view and experience while keeping safety a priority!
