These western grebes are performing the Rushing Ceremony, where they essentially walk – or more accurately, run – on water for a considerable distance. If that weren’t challenging enough, they did a remarkable job of staying in sync. I photographed this image with a Canon EOS 5DS, Canon EF 500mm f4L, Canon 1.4x extender, f/6.3, 1/2000 second, 640 ISO.
