While renting a cabin on Buck Mountain, NC, my husband, who is an early riser, woke me from a sound sleep an early November morning to witness the sunrise. Grabbing my camera and literally running to the porch, I looked to the east and shot a number of sunrise photos of the early North Carolina dawn. The mountains were in silhouette, but the sky was a blaze of oranges, pinks, purples, and yellows; the rising sun illuminating the clouds. It was worth the early morning wake-up. Ann Parker
