One of the things that struck me the most on this visit to the Vatican was the scale of the place. It's immense. It literally takes your breath away. For this shot, I was one of the first to enter at 7a.m. on a Sunday morning so there were very few people there. I was able to position myself well for this shot that shows the expanse of the building. I ensured there were people in the image in order to help convey a sense of scale.
Sony A99 Shot with a Tamron 24-70 USM 2.8. Shot handheld at 1/50th sec at f 4.5 and ISO 6400.
