Just when you thought you couldn't take another turtle photo, you spot another moment of turtle time! On each visit to Maui, I have loved spending time on this local beach where the endangered green sea turtles rest. Every evening they come ashore, and struggle up the sandy beach to a resting place for the night. This past year, there were more than 90 turtles on the beach, a record for sure! So beautiful to watch them come ashore, get back in the water, all at their turtle pace. Looking exhausted, they stop, then continue a bit further, sometimes getting pushed back into the water with the tides. I just cannot get enough turtle time, as I look forward to visiting friends in Maui each year! Sony Alpha A77II digital camera, Sony 70-300mm G lens. ISO 400- f/5.6 at 1/200 sec. Handheld.
