My objective was to photograph the backlit red tulips against the blue sky. My camera (a Nikon D600 with a Nikkor 18-35 lens at 31 mm) was placed on the ground facing upward below the flowers. I pressed the shutter button halfway and triggered it when I heard the “beep” indicating that something was in focus. The exposure was f/16 and 1/3200 sec. To tame the overexposed sun, two versions of the single original shot were merged to make made the final image.
