Today the 887 extant moai populate the perimeter of the 63 sq. mi. Easter Island. The moai were carved and constructed in honor of specific community leaders between 1250 and 1500 A.D. To the people who erected and used them, they were actual repositories of sacred spirit. Fujifilm X-T2, XF 18-135mm, ISO 200, 1/250 sec, f/22, 74mm. Tom Carroll
