This cattle ramp has always caught my eye as I drove past it on our way up to Mt. Crested Butte in Colorado. During our annual ski trip this year I decided to sneak out one morning and shoot the sunrise. The temps were hovering around -5˚F as I unpacked my gear and walked around the cattle ramp looking for the best vantage point to set up. I took some high ISO test shots, found a descent spot, and then got back in my Suburban to drink coffee and warm up my fingers. As the sun's rays started to paint the eastern clouds, I went back out and started shooting. Ultimately, I switched compositions a few times and ended up with this photograph.
