I was enjoying a photo workshop in Umbria, for which I had brought a variety of equipment, including a conventional digital camera and a camera modified for dedicated infrared. Although I had done darkroom work decades earlier, I found myself trying to re-learn which subjects and content make attractive black & white images. So, I would make an image with the conventional camera and often another with the IR-modified body. At the cathedral in Assisi, I felt I had found ideal content for an infrared capture. I made minor adjustments in Photoshop v12 (in CS5) and Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.
Nikon D200 (modified for dedicated infrared with a 720 nm filter); Nikon Nikkor 18-200 mm f/3.5-5.6 Zoom VR lens at f/11, 1/125 sec.
