I was (unfortunately) driving home from shooting the fall in the Eastern Sierra, heading back to my day job. As I drove down the Owens Valley a storm was building over the mountains. I watched this light until I just couldn't take it anymore-I had to pull over and shoot this. This is from the side of the road, standing on a rock, somewhere around Independence, CA. Converted to monochrome with Nik Silver Efex, with some Lightroom adjustments. Gear: Canon 5D MkIII, 24-105 mm lens, tripod. Settings: f16, 1/320 sec, ISO 100.
