These birds (and others) are found all over on the beaches of the South Bay. As the waves retreat, they scurry along the shoreline and dig in with their long beaks to try to find little mollusks of various sorts. They move very quickly and were not easy to shoot with the P100. My DSLRs would probably do a better job in this situation.
