After shooting sunrises on the beach during a family vacation for several days, I was looking for something a little different. I tried several shots of shells with my camera close to the sand but none looked right. So I dug a hole, put my camera in a plastic bag, and put the bag-protected camera in the hole. This allowed a very low angle to shoot this seashell.
In addition, I used a super bright flashlight and a neutral-density filter to even out the light without having to use HDR processing. An f-stop of f/10 brings focus on the shell but keeps the color and feel of the sunrise in the background.
