Sometime in the past, these old freight cars were shunted onto a siding and left to the elements. I wonder how long they were parked there and how long it will be before they turn into a pile of wood. My photo was taken from the rear car of the Durango-Silverton train as it passed by -- I had one chance to get the shot. A Nikon D7000 and a Nikkor 16-85 mm VR lens at 78 mm were used. The exposure was f/7.1 and 1/40 sec (ISO 800).
