Capturing an image of a Resplendent Quetzal was a primary goal of my Photo Trip to Costa Rica. I was not disappointed. This bird was both a thrill to see and photograph. The male sports a brilliant red breast, blue-green wings and back, a mohawk style crested head feathers, and long tail feathers that waft in the breeze. Shot with a Canon 6D with Tamron SP 150-600 F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 at 552 mm; 1/80 sec at f7.1, ISO 400. Minor exposure adjustment in Lightroom.
