I always eagerly search abandoned barn windows and doorways in the hopes that an owl may be perched there. And sometimes I do luck out! This Great Horned Owl in South Dakota was enjoying its perch here, out of a fiercely cold November wind, with just a few small shafts of light peeking through cracks in the barn walls there behind it.
