Hunting is allowed at the bird refuge near my home at certain times of the year. Signs are posted throughout the refuge so that hunters know the rules. Perhaps this rough-legged hawk was sending me a message when he thought I was going hunting instead of photographing. Photo was taken with a Nikon D850 camera, 200-500mm f/5.6 Nikkor lens, continuous shutter and focus, 1/2000 sec., f/14, 460mm, ISO 3600. An Induro Stealth CLT403 tripod and Wimberly WH-200 gimbal head were used for support.
