Before returning home to the UK after working in Sydney for a year I decided to honour my Polish grandfather by exploring the remote Australian outback just as he had done 30 years prior.
After a barren but wonderful drive up the Princes Highway, we stopped off for lunch by this old gumtree.
For me this shot illustrates the quintessential Aussie outback.
