Must've seen a fish! I was shooting this cormorant from the shores of Lake Washington, in Seattle, when it began exhibiting pre-flight behavior (defecating, stretching wings) -- I began shooting, the cormorant unexpectedly dove rather than launch into flight, and I got lucky with this shot. Used my Canon 5D Mark IV, 400mm lens. Eposure was ISO 5,000, f/5.6, 1/2000.
