No one was around to tell me the true story of this deserted cabin a hundred yards off the narrow road to the remote town of Laporte, CA. My imagination tells me it was built decades ago, on a cheap plot of land, so the owner would have basic protection from the extremes of summer and winter in the higher elevations of Feather River Country. Failure to eke out a living - or perhaps success - led to the abandonment of this domicile to the elements.
