Some of my favorite images are shot within 2 miles of my home. Rockland Lake State Park in NY is one such example. Beautiful lake with plenty of weekend activity. Adults/kids row crew for the better part of 8 months each year. During the Spring/Fall there is often a temperature differential between the air & water creating the 'smoke on the water'effect. It usually doesn't last long, so you have to arrive around 6:00am to capture the magic.
