Midnight Run was a shot in the dark...literally. This is a shot I had been eyeing and thinking ovr as I drove by several times over the course of a few weeks. Standing in front of the scene, I knew where the marsh was, but could not see it through my viewfinder or on my LCD screen...it was that dark. The only way I could focus was to look at a distant street light, hoping I was 'on the money'. I set what I hoped where good settings to capture what I thought might be a cool shot. Mosquitoes were eating me alive in just the few minutes I stood at the scene, and I feared other 'creatures' might emerge from the marsh at any moment, so I only got off 3 shots. Of the three, this was my last shot. Yes, it was a true Midnight Run, since I did not leave my home for this shot until 9:30PM. Who does this? ;-) In the end, I loved the shot, loved the adrenaline rush and it is one of my favorites from the summer.
