This wasp, the megahyssa atrata, uses its long tube{ovipositor} to deposit it's eggs deep in the old stump. I found this one when visiting a friends house. The stump was covered with them so I grabbed my 6D with a 105mm from Sigma, and my 430exII with a small softbox. This shot is
