Starting in about 2008, couples proclaimed their love by placing padlocks engraved with their names on the grillwork of bridges over the Seine in Paris. The keys were then tossed into the river. This photo was taken on the Pont de l’Archeveche, where somewhere amidst the steel jungle is a lock that my wife and I placed there in 2012. The city began to dismantle the decorated grills in June 2015 because their loads were becoming too heavy for safety. My photo was taken a few weeks before the deconstruction began. A Nikon D750 and a Nikkor 24-85 mm VR lens at 24 mm were used. The exposure was f/11 and 1/125 sec.
