"Lightning Over Granite Mountain:" Just for comparison's sake, this is what I call the more "proportionate-sized" lightning that was striking around Granite Mountain earlier Friday night. The storm seemed fairly stationary at a distance for at least 15 minutes as the sun set. The previous shots I shared were what happened suddenly when the bolts started dropping much closer, and the apparent size discrepancy between this shot and my other ones will hopefully help illustrate the scale of this storm. Notice also how I was zoomed in for this shot and had to zoom out as much as I could for the others and still didn't capture the whole bolts! Nikon D810, 24-70 lens. Manual settings rapidly adjusting for all of these shots due to changes of ambient lighting as the sun set and bolt intensity and proximity!
