El Matador State Beach in Malibu is one of the few locations in Southern California where relatively large rock formations rise out of the ocean, providing resting spots for a variety of birds. This image was made just as the sun dipped below the horizon.
The photo was shot with a Nikon D800 using a 1/250 shutter speed, with an f/8.0 aperture, and the ISO set at 1600.
