Unidentified spider photographed in Costa Rica jungle, approximately 3-4" and suspended in the middle of a web a foot in diameter. Delicate strands surrounded the center, where the web was densely woven with a lace-like pattern. The spider moved to the center of the web, laying flat and disappearing while waiting for prey.
I would have preferred a telephoto lens to shoot this but it wasn't available when this opportunity presented itself.
