This is a juvenile ape I photographed at the Miami Zoo in 2008. He was cheerful, happy, playing with several other apes. It was as if he had no idea that he wasn't in a jungle somewhere. I'm not sure if he was born in captivity or not (I'm guessing yes), but he seems totally happy with the home the biologists and zoologists have created for him here...at least for the moment.
