It was cloudy that night in Vik and we were resigned to not seeing the lights that night. However, after our solar activity app told us there was great activity that night by the Jakusarlon Lagoon, 125 miles from where we were, we decided to jump in the van at midnight and chase the aurora. We were not disappointed! We had not seen this particular band of colors until this night. The stars were out in full force and are reflected in the water. After two hours of sleep, we were up photographing the lagoon at sunrise.
