It must have been mating season at the Bear River Bird Refuge because this red wing blackbird was doing all he could do to attract a female. He was a beautiful bird when he puffed himself up and showed of the red epaulets on his shoulders. Camera settings were, continuous focus and shutter, 1/640 sec., f/8, and 700mm focal length. Equipment included Nikon D750, Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 lens, TC-14E III teleconverter, Induro Stealth CLT403 tripod, Wimberly WH-200 gimbal head.
