In the early 1900s German colonists discovered diamonds near the Atlantic Ocean in Southern Namibia. A town was founded -- Kolmanskop -- and the area was mined for about 50 years then abandoned. The dry climate has kept the buildings well preserved but the desert is gradually filling many of them with sand.
I spent an afternoon and morning exploring the ruins, and came across this scene on the south side of the town. I wedged myself into a narrow space and shot through several doors.
