While looking for birds to photograph on the 4.2 mile auto tour(required to remain in the car) in Ridegfeiled National Wildlife refuge in Washington, I spotted these autumnal leaves covered with hoar frost. From a distance they looked like Christmas ornaments with translucent light streaming through. Hand held, I took this photo from our car with a Nikon D 7100 and Tamron Zoom Lens (150-600 mm.). The ISO was 200, F/16, 1/50th second exposure, and a focal length of 240 mm.
