Harbor Beach, on the east side of the Michigan 'Thumb' features a long pier that leads out into a protected harbor. Early in the morning, the pier was deserted, which left me with some opportunities to shoot the pier in peace. I really liked the repeating patterns offered by the pier. The somewhat uneven railing seems to complement the rigid straight lines of the pier, benches, and lights.
