In Silver Bank, Dominican Republic, you can snorkel with Humpback whales...you live on a boat whose captain has a permit to do this. You get into a tender and wait for the whales and then you slip into the water. It's an amazing experience as the whales are not bothered by your presence and if you get near a "singer", the vibrations of the song goes right through you. It's incredible to see how graceful these huge animals are under water. Equipment was a SeaLife DC2000,SeaLife Fisheye lens (11mm equivalent); settings were f/2.5, 1/320 sec., ISO 125.
