This image was created using the focus stacking technique. I exposed ten shots focused from near to far with in the image area. That is I first focused on the colosest part and then manually focuse a little further into the image on each shot until I was focused at the far side of the image. I processed the ten files in Helicon Focus software which finds the sharp parts of each file and merges them together to one new file. I then edited the file in Photoshop CS adjusting levels and saturation and finaly added some sharpening with Unsharp Mask in Photoshop.
I used a Nikon D300 with a Nikkor 105mm f2.8 AF Macro lens. The exposures were 1/60 at f5.6, ISO 200 on a Manfrotto trypod.
