I had photographed this shipwreck in the summer with a longer lens from across the lake because that was as close as I could get to it at that time.
However, because of the bitterly cold winter we had in the Northeast, in early March the lake was covered with 12 inch thick ice, so venturing out onto it was quite safe. It enabled me to at last shoot this shipwreck the way I really wanted to: up-close-and-personal.
