The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge has many interesting features, one of which is the Black Point Wildlife Drive. This drive is a 7.5 mile winding gravel road that travels through mud-flats, marsh, canals, and ponds. While driving through it one mid-morning, I spotted this Trip-colored Heron perfectly posed in reflection in one of the small ponds. Just as I started to release the shutter set in Continuous High, the TCH caught a fresh water shrimp in it's beak. My original intent was to capture a reflection shot of the TCH; but sometimes it pays to be in the right spot at the right time. Nikon D750, Sigma 150-500mm f/5.0-6.3, f/6.3, 1/800, 500mm.
