Our son had a summer job at the lodge in Talkeetna, Alaska, which gave us an excuse to visit. Talkeeetna is a small town located south of Denali National park, with an airport busy flying people on tours of Denali. We booked a flight on a K2 Aviation single engine Otter. The sky was partly cloudy, with blue peeking out now and then. I was fortunate to be in the seat behind the pilot and ahead of the wing. This afforded a view of the ice and rock below, the white and blue of the sky and the red of the wing of the airplane, making for a rather patriotic color scheme over one of the treasures of the US National Park system. Here we are turning to align with the Kahiltna Glacier headed back down the flanks of Denali through the valley carved by the glacier. Shot with a Nikon D750 with the Nikon 24-120mm f/4.0 lens at 1/800 sec, f/11, ISO 320.
