I was driving around the Volcanic Tablelands as a storm moved through the Owens Valley. I was chasing rainbows, look for one with an interesting foreground. I didn't find one, but I saw in my rearview mirror that the clouds were parting around Mt. Tom, revealing a new layer of snow. I converted it to black and white the emphasize the layers and processed it in Aperture and Lightroom CC, but I still didn't like it much. I sent it to photographer friend Jerry Dodrill and he cropped out most of the foreground and background to focus on the peaks, and this is the final result-it works!
